Our Story

A personal experience becomes a useful service.
The idea for QualitySmith began when the sister of our founder, Rob Schmidt, put a large down payment on a new roof. The contractor disappeared with the money and never returned, and Rob's sister lost thousands of dollars. Rob vowed to do something about it, and QualitySmith was born.

Contractors, meet customers.
QualitySmith exists to set appointments for homeowners with pre-screened contractors for their projects. But we're also here to help good home improvement contractors meet homeowners. Because as a contractor, it can be hard to convince customers that you're trustworthy and reliable when all they've heard are horror stories.

So our mission is to bring customers and contractors together, showing customers that our partner contractors are good to work with, and demonstrating to contractors that customers who choose QualitySmith are serious about home improvement and looking for the best value, not just the lowest price.
