Cruising along by bicycle, I cut a U-turn. I had to check out the elegant, Tudor-style home in Portland, Ore. It's painted in a shade reminiscent of Pantone's Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid, minus a pink undertone.
Radiant Orchid is the color of magic, symbolizing renewal and imagination. It has hints of a mystery and a bit of royalty mixed in.
The color works especially well as an accent color for interiors. For instance, add Radiant Orchid to your throw pillows, an upholstered armchair or a rug. It pairs well with yellows, teal or turquoise, and deeper greens.
