Where do you need services?
In the world of air conditioning, Goodman falls somewhere in the middle. None of its systems have the incredibly high efficiency ratings of top brands, but Goodman makes air conditioners that are considered reliable with warranties to back that reputation up--including lifetime warranties for the compressor on most of its systems. Goodman air conditioner prices are competitively priced and generally fall between the rate of high-end brands and low-end brands.
Goodman air conditioner prices aren’t listed by the company, however, because it sells the systems wholesale to contractors. What you pay as a consumer is a combined cost of the installation and the air conditioner. That can make it tricky to identify cost for your needs. For this reason, consumer watchdog groups such as Consumer Reports recommend seeking multiple estimates. If you’d like estimates for your needs, QualitySmith can provide up to four free estimates from reputable contractors in your area here.
The following prices are estimates we recently collected, including the wholesale system price and the installation cost. Your Goodman air conditioner prices may vary.
SEER rating refers to an air conditioner’s efficiency and is the best way to calculate long-term savings vs. up-front cost of an air conditioner. The higher the SEER rating, the higher the efficiency rating. It’s a bit tricky to calculate, but Energy Star offers a helpful Excel-based spreadsheet for calculating savings depending on the SEER rating. You can download the Excel sheet here.

Premiere Goodman Air Conditioners
About: Goodman’s premiere systems do not carry the high SEER of some of its competitors’ high-end systems. It’s highest rated system, the DSXC18, with a SEER of 18, is well below the efficiency rating of Carrier’s top of the line Infinity Series, which carries a SEER of 21. On the plus side, these air conditioners carry a number of the extra features--such as the ComfortNet communication system--that aren’t available on many of Goodman’s competitors’ systems with SEER ratings of 16 and 18. And as an added bonus, Goodman air conditioner prices for these systems are well below that of their competitors’ high-end systems.

These systems also carry short-lived warranties and no amenities beyond normal cooling. The one positive of these systems are their low Goodman air conditioner prices. We discourage against buying the GSC13, which uses R-22, a refrigerant that will be phased out in the United States by law in 2020.
